Our Rocca Family Vineyards 2007 Collinetta Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic example of the signature depth, complexity, and refinement of this unique vineyard. The wine opens with a rich, dark color that perfectly reflects its deep core of ripe black fruit.
Throughout Napa Valley, the 2007 vintage produced some of the greatest wine grapes in recent memory. Conditions were remarkable mild and even, with very few heat spikes, allowing flavors and tannins to ripen slowly and beautifully. For the last vintage produced for Rocca by winemaker Celia Welch, the fruit from each block of the vineyard was harvested and fermented separately, and aged in French oak barrels for an initial nine months. Celia then perfected the blend in July of 2008 - 98% Cab, 2% Petite Verdot - and returned the wine to barrels for an additional 10 months.
Our Rocca Family 2008 Collinetta Vineyard Cabernet is a perfect example of this vineyard’s signature ability to balance richness and concentration with style and elegance. A 100% Cabernet with a non-interventionist winemaking approach, it is truly indicative of "Napa Terroir."
100% Cabernet grapes from a single, organically farmed vineyard, combined with our winemaker's classic non-interventionist style, creates the purest expression possible of "Napa Valley Terroir."
Our 2009 Collinetta Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is the 4th vintage we've bottled from this site, and it's the most complete illustration yet of the intrinsic characteristics of this very special vineyard: Deep, dense color, aromas and flavors with a pronounced emphasis on ripe black fruits; finely sculpted, sophisticated tannins and an inherent personality of subtle, stylish elegance and refinement.
