Cabernet Sauvignon from our cooler Collinetta Vineyard in Coombsville provides the foundation for the blend, and gives the wine its characteristic dark cherry and ripe blackberry aromas as well as its elegant tannin structure. Generous helpings of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot from the same vineyard bring perfume-like, lifted aromas of spring flowers and spice, and a refined note of minerality. Completing the blend, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from our warmer Grigsby Vineyard in Yountville bring a sweet, juicy raspberry component to the approach and the mid-palate, and add delicious silkiness and length to the wine’s finish. Taken as a whole, this latest incarnation of our Bad Boy Red is exceptionally approachable and friendly, yet quietly complex and deep.
