The Ultra Premium Crown Jewel of the Rocca Family wine portfolio, the first-ever bottling of Tesorina is a profoundly concentrated, iconic expression of Napa Valley's outstanding 2008 vintage. While the wine expresses the vintage's warm personality and rich, effusive fruit with beautiful balance and proportion, it does so on an unusually grand scale.

The aromas here are ripe and intense, with a deep core of sweet dark raspberries and black currant jam highlighted by a pronounced mineral component. With air, complex notes of dark and milk chocolate, espresso and graphite begin to emerge. On approach, the wine is full and rich, soft and expansive and packed with sumptuous waves of palate-coating sweet fruit. The finish is almost absurdly long and reveals the wine's dense, underlying structure. Rocca's trademark soft, velvety tannins are in rich abundance here, and combine with vibrant natural acidity to ensure 20 to 30 years of beautiful aging pontential.

Winemaker Notes
Our goal at Rocca is to make wines that reflect, as fully and faithfully as possible, the unique characteristics of the vineyards from which they come. To this end, all our wines are made exclusively from our own organically-farmed, estate-grown grapes, which we selectively hand-harvest in the cool hours of the night. Once the fruit has been picked, we take an emphatically hands-off, non-interventionist approach to winemaking. The grapes are de-stemmed as gently as possible and allowed to ferment with the vineyard's own indigenous yeasts. The wine is then gently pressed off and transferred into barrels. In assembling the blend for Tesorina, we carefully select individual barrels from the very finest lots of the vintage, in a passionate effort to create the most complete and beautiful expression possible of our estate vineyards.
