While the wine expresses the vintage's warm personality and rich, effusive fruit with beautiful balance and proportion, it does so on an unusually grand scale.

The aromas here are ripe and intense, with a deep core of sweet dark raspberries and black currant jam highlighted by a pronounced mineral component. With air, complex notes of dark and milk chocolate, espresso and graphite begin to emerge. On approach, the wine is full and rich, soft and expansive and packed with sumptuous waves of palate-coating sweet fruit. The finish is almost absurdly long and reveals the wine's dense, underlying structure. Rocca's trademark soft, velvety tannins are in rich abundance here, and combine with vibrant natural acidity to ensure 20 to 30 years of beautiful aging pontential.
